Computer Support Specialist / A+ Certification
This 15 week training course prepares individuals for entry-level positions in the field of computer repair. It is designed for individuals who have some basic knowledge of computers and the desire to learn advanced computer technology.
This course will provide students with:
- In-depth hands-on computer repair
- Operation and maintenance of computer utilizing Windows operating systems, Linux, Green IT and prevenative systems
- Troubleshooting and maintaining personal computers and personal electronic devices
- Peer to peer computer networking for small business and home
- Introduction to Network Applications
- Troubleshooting and correcting software problems
- Preparation for the A +, Linux and Green IT certification.
- Four week unpaid internship experience
Requirements:
• Delaware Resident at least 18 years of age
• Valid Driver’s license
• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• Ability to pass Reading and Math Exam
• Pass criminal background check
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft XP/Vista
• Keyboarding Skills
• $250.00 (Drug screening, background check, and A+ Certification Exam)
* Student must pay cost of additional certification exams.

Answer: Yes. The primary mission of the Delaware Skills Center is to place individuals in full-time, permanent employment upon completion of training.

Answer: The Delaware Skills Center will provide job placement assistance. Students must also actively participate in job seeking activities.
What starting salary can I expect?
Answer: It varies. The average entry-level salary is between $9.00-$15.00 per hour based on your ability and past work experience.
Is it possible to find employment before the course ends.
Answer: Yes. As long as the course objectives and curriculum are completed to the satisfaction of the instructor and training specialist.
