Evening Practical Nursing Course
Course Schedule: January 2011 - July 2012
The Evening Practical Nursing Course is an 18 month course of study and is approved by the Delaware Board of Nursing. The course provides an opportunity for the students to successfully study and learn the course requirements to take the licensure examination after graduation.
Graduates of the course are required to take the licensure examination and work full-time in the health care field after graduation for a minimum period of nine months. The program includes both classroom and clinical learning experiences in various nursing facilities in New Castle County.
Attendance for the course is mandatory and classes are held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and every other Saturday from 6:45 am until 3:00 pm.
The course tuition is $7,000.00, books and uniforms are approximately $1,800.00, criminal background checks are $69.00, drug testing is $50.00, and the non-refundable application fee is $100.00. Additional fees include the licensure fees, conference fees, and testing fees. There is no financial aid available for candidate attending the evening course, and a payment plan is not offered for the tuition.
Requirements:
* Health care experience
* Three letters of reference, one of which is from a current employer and health care provider
* Applicants must be at least 20 years of age
* Negative drug testing
* No criminal background (State and FBI), also not listed on the Child and Adult Abuse Registry
* Have CPR Certification for Health Care Providers with AED through the American Health Association
* $100.00 Non-refundable application fee in the form of a money order only

The registration phase will include an orientation session, payment of registration fee, scheduling a testing date for the entrance examination, and submitting a completed portfolio in the given timeframe. Candidates who score at or above the national average for the testing bureau will then be interviewed. Further information is available to those candidates who are selected for an interview.
Tuition refunds for evening courses will only be given prior to the start of the course. Once the course has started, no refunds will be issued. |
