This lattice course is designed to take participants beyond the basic skills of a craft trade by provding training in five areas. Individual taking the day course is a start in the skills trades, and it is preferred these students complete the course and obtain employment. Upon obtaining related employment, return to the Delaware Skills Center to complete one or more of the five course credentials in evening school or day school depending on work schedule.
This course is designed for those individuals who are interested in becoming a tradesman apprentice in Carpentry, Electrical, H.V.A.C., Plumbing & Welding. This technician will work in large, medium or small industrial, commercial, and property management settings using the skills learned in school, and internship opprotunities. Employers desire these skilled individual in state government, private property management as well as corporate facilities maintnenace.
This course is twelve (12) weeks including a 2-3 weeks internship in an unpaid hands-on experience. Students will participate in OSHA, and Fork Truck training.
